ASSERT is a Community Based Organization (CBO) incorporated as a California Non-Profit Public Benefit Corporation in 1977.

Originally incorporated to serve low-income communities, disabled persons, the elderly, youth and recovering alcoholics and their family members. ASSERT has provided employment and training services to both adults and the youth.

Over the past 28 years, ASSERT has also provided a variety of services to the community including: Minority Business Development Centers, Youth Entrepreneurial Training, Welfare Support Services, and Energy Conservation & Efficiency Programs and Services. 

Since 1983, the corporation has and continues to provide a variety of energy education, energy conservation, measure installation and energy efficiency services to low income households.
